This is Giancoli Answers with Mr. Dychko. The second-hand on the clock covers a full circle or 2π radians every 60 seconds or every minute and that gives 0.105 radians per second. And the hour hand covers a full circle, 2π radians, in every hour which is 3600 seconds per hour and that gives 1.75 times 10 to the minus 3 radians per second. And for the hour hand, it covers a full circle in 12 hours so we have to figure out how many second there are in 12 hours and multiply 12 by 3600 seconds per hour and you get 1.45 times 10 to the minus 4 radians per second. And in every case— the second hand, the hour hand and the minute hand—they all have constant angular velocity and so their angular acceleration is zero.
