VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

This question shows you how important it is not to take your eyes off the road when you’re driving at high speeds on the highway. The distance you travel if you stop looking at the road for two seconds when you’re going at one hundred and ten kilometers per hour is given by: speed times time. So that’s one hundred and ten kilometers per hour multiplied by two point zero seconds, and then multiplying that by one hour for every three thousand six hundred seconds. We need to cancel the hours, and so we’re doing that with this conversion factor of one hour for every three thousand six hundred seconds; the hour in the denominator will cancel with the hour in the numerator. The seconds will also cancel, leaving us with kilometers. Our answer is: zero point six one kilometers, or in meters: sixty one meters.
